This focused 8-week course gives you a clear, doable plan to guide your 3rd through 8th grader through writing in a way that actually works.
Instead of wondering if you are teaching the “right” things, you will know exactly what to practice, how to practice it, and how to support your child without daily frustration.
Your child will learn how to recognize writing prompts, organize their ideas, and communicate clearly in persuasive, expository, and narrative writing. You will learn how writing is scored and how to coach your child with calm confidence.

writing time becomes less stressful, your child feels more capable, and you feel validated as a homeschooling parent who knows what to do and how to help.
This preparation supports families heading into SBAC and CAASPP style assessments, but more importantly, it builds confidence, clarity, and momentum in your homeschool routine.
Starting in February, families follow a simple, clear plan that removes the guesswork from writing test prep.
Week one gives you breathing room to explore the materials, understand the approach, and set a rhythm that works for your homeschool. No rushing. Just clarity and confidence from the start.
During weeks two through seven, you will move through short, self-paced lessons with all materials provided. Each writing genre is taught and practiced over two weeks, so your child has time to understand the purpose, organize ideas, and improve with guidance instead of pressure.
You are free to follow the suggested schedule or move at your own pace. This program is designed to fit real homeschool life, not demand perfection.
Best of all, after each writing assignment, your child receives individualized feedback that highlights strengths and offers clear, supportive next steps. This is where confidence grows and progress becomes visible.
